Everybody hates a ban!

Marcus, at the time of the ban

When my third son Marcus, who is now almost 21, was about 3 or 4, he learned a new word: BANNED. He was a mischievous little tyke and one day his antics with the craft supplies had resulted in a proscription.

He was not impressed. He went around the house, sulking and complaining, making sure we all knew what a burden his ban was. We still laugh about that day!

Upon reading recently that Colonel Gadhafi's funds have been frozen and that he has been banned from travel, I was reminded of Marcus's punishment 16 years ago.

How little life changes as we get older!

Marcus, aged 3 1/2: "I'm banned from glue; I can't use tape. What am I supposed to do?"

Colonel Gadhafi, aged 69: "I'm banned from travel; I can't use my money. What am I supposed to do?"
